CO CHINA IMMERSION FOR TECHERS

Programmes:
a. Refresher lessons on Chinese music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music
b. Visit to instrument production factories
c. Visit to 2 schools with well-known Chinese orchestra groups
d. Enjoy some traditional JIANGNAN music at the famous Shanghai Yuyuan
e. Interactive visit to Taicang Rongwen Art School and learn how they set up their CO group
f. Visit to the birthplace of masters Liu Tian Hua & Hua Yanjun
Objectives:
a. To provide a cultural immersion experience for teachers.
b. To allow teachers to have a better understanding of the development of Chinese ethic music.
c. To familiarize teachers with the various types and makes of Chinese musical instruments.
d. To promote cultural interaction.
e. To promote cohesion and sharing among teachers from different schools.
Date: 30 Aug to 6 Sep 2008
Destinations: Shanghai, Taicang, Suzhou, Jiangyin & Wuxi
